I dislike this

Forewarning: Facebook has not introduced a dislike button yet and this post is in no way related to that.

So, I thought of listing out my dislikes, primarily for my information and importantly, for others too. Though I am aware about 'Advaita' doctrine, as a not-so-enlightened human being, I frankly don't like everything and everyone around me. Though there are other things I dislike, the following is a list of things/people which I do not like under any circumstances.


  1. People without original thoughts, I appreciate original thoughts even if they are crude
  2. Talking while eating
  3. Hypocrisy
  4. Smoke (all kind of them, especially cigarette)
  5. Regionalists
  6. Religious extremists
  7. The sound of rubbing on balloons (close me inside a room, do this, you'll get a dead me)
  8. Wannabes; who really don't know what they wanna be!
  9. 'ma' for my, 'kewl' for cool, 'wot' for what, ni8 for night etc. I read gr8 as G, R and 8.
  10. Airtel mobile (contradictorily I use one)
  11. Lack of modesty/humility
  12. People who think that everyone else is a damned fool (e.g: one of my acquaintances commented on one of my FB statuses like this: '‎one semicolon free with every bottle of Harpic' and then he pings and tells me, 'harpic was a compliment - 'disinfectant''| dear mr intellectual i know that by Harpic you meant crap. don't dork me, please )
  13. People who copy/steal ideas (quotes, notes, music..whatever!) and publish as theirs (please get a life, or at least try to)
  14. Food which is not visually appealing, especially green dishes
  15. People who do not respect other individuals' dignity, including kids and ladies.
  16. Shared auto-rickshwas
  17. Incomprehensible articles/stories/notes
  18. Extremely tragic/grossly violent movies
  19. People who send hoax emails, news etc., before googling and verifying the authenticity of them
  20. Missing deadlines
  21. Shouting at me without any reason
  22. Sentences likeeee thissssssssssss (thanks to Hamsini Ravi for reminding this)
  23. And this: 'Hi, how are you doing?'| lolllzzzz, nm, ssup der?| not much work|ROFLMAO!!!| excuse me, i'm offline!  (thanks to Pranav for this reminder)
  24. Spitting in public places (ultimate yuck!)
  25. A non-empty spam folder
This list might have some more additions, as and when I remember my dislikes ;)

Obviously you know what it would be about, yes the big match today. Normally Wednesdays are like the half finished medicine bottles when you are ill; you know that you are getting well by the end of it but you still have to go through the torture and finish half of it. Fragile egos, failing society

We have failed as a society. Damn it, we have failed as living creatures. Malayalis can bury their head in the sand and flash their golden HDI card, while accepting that we are a morally corrupt society. This might come as a surprise, but Madhu would have been beaten to death regardless of his tribal tag. A majority of Keralites find it amusing to pamper their fragile egos by putting their nose in to others business. Ocassionally, this ends up in mob/group violence. Trust me when I say this, we are a coward lot if not in a group. We are apathethic towards stronger enemies. However, when we have our chance, we pound upon the weaker prey, and even kill him. You would not belive when I say that it is difficult to go out with my wife in certain parts of my town (Kottayam) after 7 PM.
