..and that makes me sad

I have a personal policy which I always adhere to; never write when I'm angry, irritated or sad. Also, I try my level best not to talk when I am in any of the above moods. However, the attempt to not to talk when I'm in a bad temperament is in vain, almost always. When a conversational person goes mute, it gets noticed and then the questions follow. This ultimately leads to many more redundant verbal exchanges.

The point is, when I write I try to ensure that the content has a positive tone to it. So, don't confuse the title with me being sad, I'm not. Over the last few months, I became a big fan of The Big Bang Theory and also became an admirer of Jim Parsons as an actor. And in one of the episodes, his character Sheldon Cooper says to Penny "One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.".

Digressing; though my IQ is nowhere near 187, I too occasionally encounter people who are too superior, in their own mental ivory tower, to realize that the hypothesis of their own intellectual existence is flawed. A typical saddening person is mostly concerned about everyone else and consider himself/herself as the flawless creature ever. This ranges from the Average Kumar (Isn't Joe a lot American?) who cuts in your lane while driving and shouts at you to make himself feel good, to your friendly neighbourhood employeeman.

Here are some gems which I picked up recently:
  • Over heard from a nearby cubicle: "Is it a 'cornflakes' lens that you are using?"
  • Some people make me believe that communication is more of a deciphering process: "I was been under the impression that you were been knowing it."
  • The world is your oyster, so is email communication: "'Tones' of thanks for informing...." :/
  • Nearby cubicle strikes again: "Can you please get the Hot copy from the photostat machine?" PS: Apparently the paper is hot when it comes out of the machine
  • At lunch (no escape): "So are you friends with XYZ?" Nodded in approval. "Are you really close with him?" Obviously, being weird is his super power!
  • Someone innovative, has decided to conclude an organizational announcement with an 'unfeigned regards' of all kind of regards, fancy that!

Finally, this post is dedicated to the person who prominently displayed a stomped and deformed passport size photo of mine at his desk, which was dropped from my wallet.

Later.
